The Girls Aloud star admits that she used to worry about her portrayal in the media.
‘It does trouble me that people get away with writing so many lies,’ says Cheryl.
‘When we started out as a band, I’d get so panicked I’d feel physically sick with every negative thing I read.
'But I would have cracked up if I’d carried on letting it get to me like that and I won’t allow other people to do that to me, no way.’
Now X Factor judge Cheryl, 25, only cares about the opinions of her friends and family
‘I either don’t read it, or if I do happen to see it, I just take it with a pinch of salt and laugh it off,’ she tells Hello!
'It helps massively to have support. I was always one of those people who shunned support because I felt I had to deal with it all myself. But I’ve learned over the past year to let go a bit and let people in and I feel like a different person, I really do.’
